Crafted Journey Retreat: Tavira, Portugal
Dates: July 16th - 20th, 2026
Set in Tavira, a peaceful coastal town in Portugal’s Algarve region, the Crafted Journey Retreat is a five-day creative retreat hosted by Craft & Release and Sambapita. At its heart, the retreat is about making space; space to step away from daily demands, spend time with your work, and reconnect with the parts of your creative practice that can get lost in the rush of everyday life.
Location - Tavira, Portugal
The retreat unfolds in a place shaped by light, water, and a slower pace of life. Days are grounded in creative focus, with space to experience the beauty of the surrounding landscape, explore the town and coastline, and step outside of familiar routines. The setting becomes part of the experience, offering moments of perspective, inspiration, and quiet discovery that gently feed the creative work.
Our communal retreat home in Tavira offers comfortable shared and private spaces for writing, gathering, and downtime, with indoor and outdoor areas that encourage a more intentional rhythm.
Our Approach
The retreat moves between guided creative sessions and open time for independent work. Generative craft workshops offer tools and new ways into your practice. Movement, wellness, and time outdoors are woven throughout to support focus and energy, alongside a curated excursion designed to offer a fresh perspective and creative inspiration.
While the retreat is especially supportive of writers, it is open to anyone seeking to deepen their creative practice and storytelling across mediums, with writing used as a foundational tool for reflection, exploration, and expression.
Accomodation
Our rooms are intentionally designed to nurture calm, reflection, and clarity. We offer both shared and individual rooms to honor different needs and rhythms. Our shared rooms host two women, inviting you to join with a friend or someone you feel comfortable with, while our individual rooms offer a more private space for rest and introspection.
